Virtual Hosting is a type of (mid-tier) Web Hosting Service, called Virtual Private Servers (VPS) or Virtual Dedicated Servers - that (at its most basic level) is a hybrid of both Shared & Dedicated Hosting - in that a VPS emulates a Dedicated Server... but the Physical Server may actually contain multiple VPS instances, that share the server's resources. Therefore, with a VPS Plan, you have an independent and isolated Web Hosting environment, with your own: Operating System, Applications, Services, etc. - including a minimum guaranteed amount of the server's resources, such as: CPU, Memory, etc.

The impact of this is that no one VPS instance on the server is able to monopolize the server's resources - thus preventing any possibility of uneven resource distribution, or "abuse" / "over-use" of the server's resources outside of (or across) VPS instances. This is made possible via Virtuozzo, by SWsoft... which will even allow a VPS to "burst" to use the full resources of the server (i.e. CPU or Memory) - so long as it does not infringe upon the resource needs of other VPS instances on the same server. Dedicated Hosting is a type of (high-end) Web Hosting service, which as provided by ViUX™... we refer to as "Dynamic" Dedicated Servers (DDS). Our DDS Plans provide an ideal upgrade path for those with sites that are not well suited for (or have "outgrown") Virtual Hosting and therefore must have the full resources of their own Dedicated Server. Due to the Dynamic nature of our Dedicated Servers, such an upgrade from VPS to DDS could not be any easier!

To initiate an upgrade from VPS to DDS we simply deploy your Dedicated Server of choice with your selected options in place, image the server with the base software set (i.e. OS, Anti-Virus, Disk De-fragmentation, & Virtuozzo), and then "push" your VPS to the new server. This can even be done with near-zero downtime!

Our use of Virtuozzo to deploy our Dedicated Servers and the resulting ease of migration and management is why we refer to our Dedicated Servers as being "Dynamic".

VPS & DDS are almost identical services with one important exception... With DDS you have 100% of the servers resources for your exclusive use – (vs.) – VPS where the server's resources are distributed to multiple VPS's based upon your VPS Plan level.
